Using a framework centered in growth mindset and resilience, the GRIT Coaching Program is dedicated to the development of the whole student. GRIT peer coaches are trained to provide weekly 1x1 coaching support to their fellow peers to achieve personal, academic and professional success. Some topic areas of focus include strategies for stress-reduction, problem-solving, goal-setting, and connection to themselves as well as the greater campus community. 

How does the program work?

After submitting this form, you will hear from your coach via email or phone within one week. Coaches are UCLA students who have been trained on how to best support fellow students through the core values of guidance, resilience, integrity, and transformation

Your coach will help you with the following: 

  • 1-on-1 guidance through meetings and follow-ups
  • A supportive listening space
  • Effective strategies for improving well-being
  • Tools for academic success and time management 
  • Resource referral
  • Help getting plugged into campus 
  • Educational opportunities

"My participation was extremely valuable because the appointments were all during convenient times. I received helpful information in each of the weekly sessions. I was able to reduce a lot of stress and I learned how to manage my time. Also, developed a healthy friendship with my coach!
